1/24 wheel/tire sets?

Does anyone out there know of a brand of wheel/tire sets for 1:24 scale diecast with metal rod axles? (For modifying my Jada 1:24 cars.) I'm looking for classic stock styles for 50s/60s cars.

I was pleased to find Pegasus products and bought several. They would be perfect, except that they're so tiny. I've tried several sets, and they're all about 7/8" in diameter (edge of tire to edge of tire). I guess they're for lowriders, but I don't want that. I want regular sized 1:24 wheels & tires -- about 1 1/8"-1 1/4", which is a considerable difference on a 1/24 car.

I'm scouring the web and not finding anything that looks like what I want. Thanks in advance for any help!

I have a stupid idea

Just buy really cheap distressed D/M or F/M diecast cars and rob parts off that you need ???

I am NOT a model car builder at all ... I shooting from the hip here

That's not a stupid idea!

Thanks, Dennis. I was thinking I'd try out some 2nd hand shops for used Jadas. But sure wish I could find a manufacturer of wheels in real 1/24 size.

About a year ago .. I was looking for

Corvette Rims ( 1965 or 1966 ) ... so I bought a Highly damaged D/M Green Corvette simply because I wanted the side pipes and rims

It worked for me

So I was thinking it might work for others

That's not stupid, Denis. It's a smart idea. I've done it as I'm sure others have.

I recently bought a distressed '57 DM Bel Air (bad paint rash & chipping) just to get the dual antennae from it to put on an otherwise perfect '58 DM Impala coupe (the rare Glen Green version) that I had just acquired at a bargain price as it was missing them.

There are several model makers that offer 1/24 cars. You could find..

some wheels and tire sets on ebay. I have bought a few 1/18 sets and have seen other scales listed. Here is an auction with a boat load.

I also scour the model car parts on Ebay, I've used several different sets on my die cast with a little modifying.

While doing work for GMP...

...I had talked them into doing a Shelby wheel and tires set in 24th. I will tell you that they had no interest in going forward with any more sets. This being said, good luck finding any sets today!
Fireball models and Scale Equipment LTD. have some nice sets available!
