We all have a "THE BIG ONE GOT AWAY STORY", and this week I'm going to share SEVEN model cars "that got away from me". The peak of my buying model cars was when I was still working and like all of us, I had financial obligations that were certainly more important than buying an expensive collectible model. And too, sometimes I already had one, two, or several cars on order from the mints. So there were times when it was decided that I would wait on a certain model and hopefully get it later. Well, we all know that many times "later" doesn't come, and as such "the model got away ".
THIS IS ONE OF THEM!

A very nice one George. Sorry it got away 'cause it is a great color for a GTO.
Now thank-you, I wasn't sure what to start GTO WEEK out with. Your photo made it the right choice, so stay tuned.

I do have the Turquoise version of the '65. But would have had that Red one next to it. And hey, glad I could be your inspiration for your GTO week. I look forward to your Daily Dose's every day.

George, I missed some models over the years for the same reasons you did...finances... luckily this was not one of them.
That's the problem with strolling down memory lane. You're reminded again what you let get away (mostly for budgetary issues).
Don't beat yourself up. I'm a hopeless model car junkie too. If I had all of the hours back that I spent building models cars, well.... I'd have a couple of years at least. No regrets though.

Well, though I'd like to have the GTO (and some others that I'm going to share this coming week), I like to think that I always had my real priorities in order when I was raising my family and paying for the important things in life.
