Continuing with "The Big One That Got Away" week, this is also a BIG CAR!  Danbury Mint was celebrating the Golden Anniversary of Cadillac's longest and  biggest finned car ever!  Never mind that it was a repaint, because it was from Danbury Mint and it was a masterpiece.  These attributes aside, this was a BIG ONE THAT GOT AWAY from me!

Not because I didn't want it, but because when this Brochure arrived I already had SEVEN other models on order and I deduced that with TEN other '59 Caddy's already adorning my shelves, I didn't need another one...at least at that moment in time.  So I justified my not ordering it because I felt I'd be able to add it down the road sometime.  However as we all know sometimes, sometime doesn't come...and this BIG ONE GOT AWAY!

The only reason I bought this model was that it had the up top option.

I purchased this one because I didn't have a 59 Caddy.

This is my favorite of the Series 62 models DM issued.

Boy, they got a lot of use out of that old tooling. At least this time they threw in a top-up option. With such a classic and iconic design, it seems they couldn't sell enough of them. It is/was a very well done model.

Oh boy Bob, you just made my missing this one hurt even more. 🙁

I'd forgot to mention the "top up" option and that is something I like with all convertible models.  I'm gong to hold my breath and hope that someday down the road, I can find that Cadillac and add it to my collection.
