Yesterday's mail delivered me the Danbury Mint 1960 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe.  TODAY'S mail shared FRANKLIN MINT'S version of the Impala!  The latter was the FIRST Mint to give us this model and in beautiful Snow White with a Blue Sphere riding the side trim, it's a sharp looking car.  When most of us think of fine replication of these little 1:24 scale collectibles, we look for everything INSIDE and OUT for the model to be as near to perfection as possible.  FM didn't think we'd notice that they didn't include a "Headliner" on the inside top!  To me, a major flaw, mistake, or whatever you'd care to refer to it!  But I do like this model, so forgiveness is possible as the car looks great otherwise and displays well on my shelves.

"See the U.S.A. in your Chevrolet" sang Dinah Shore back in the day!

FRANKLIN MINT presents the...

DANBURY vs. FRANKLIN "Head to Head" comparisons for the 1960 Chevy Impala, I take Danbury's first.  But both models are great ad's to any collection.  Smile

Good pick today. The 1st Impala in my collection. Compared to the DM versions, it does have some lacking features. With that, the model is still an important one in my collection. Great colors.

George, When did Doris Day take over the Chevy commercials from Dinah Shore?

LOL, good catch Bob.  My mistake, it was Dinah Shore, not Doris Day.  And I knew that, but for some reason typed Doris Day.  It's been corrected!  Now to get the "White Out" off my computer screen is my next task.  Smile

@georgeschire

It must be an old age thing, I find myself doing things like that all of the time.

My first Impala too, and only one of two with a six cylinder engine!  This pairs well with the white Corvair.

I remember Franklin also had a DARK BLUE, almost glow in the dark blue version.  When I received it, the color was just way to over the top for me.  And as mentioned, there was no "head-liner" inside, that when looking at it, was like the old promo plastic models of the sixties.  I sent it back.  The white one was enough for me.
