1935 Duesenberg SJ Speedster Mormon Meteor Body Shape Molding

With so much disappointing news bounding about in 1/24th, I thought I give you something to think about for September: Our 1935 Duesenberg SJ Speedster Mormon Meteor's body shape mold is being reviewed by the curators of the 1:1 car as I post this.

This is the first tangible step in the process. Once we get their comments back, the body shape mold may be refined and the next step will begin with the prototype.

This model is on track to debut at this year's Glenmoor Gathering of Significant Automobiles in Canton OH on September 16th with the 1:1 Meteor in attendence too in their Pre-War Supercharged class.

Please let us know if you have any questions or comments.

Thanks,
Jim Cowen

Jim, Is this positively 1/24th since the Hispano moved to 1/18th Darn. My scale of choice is 1/24th.

I do collect all scales as I want to try to have complete linage of each make for all years produced so yes I am forced to 1/43rd, 1/32nd,1/18th and some 1/12th's but prefer the 1/24th's so it is important.I have some 5-6,000 cars plus about 20,000 hot wheels/matchbox most of mattels 1/64th sets too. If given a choice for the Dubonnet it would be 1/24th not the 1/18th.
Thank You for your thoughts?

It's Minichamps that announced a pending 1/18 model causing Automodello to abandon the 1/24. I agree with you, the 1/24 scale would be perfect. What's really going to tick me off is if Minichamps winds up reneging and it's forever pending. I would like to see Automodello go ahead and beat Minichamps to the punch. I would choose the 1/24 curbside over the Minichamps anyway. For my money, I feel that Minichamps is overpriced for what their product offers and the pricepoint would surely be close enough that I would prefer the scale and the exclusivity of the Automodello iteration.
I like what Jim and Raffi are doing here and I will support their efforts any way I can.

The Xenia

I would imagine Automodello could produce the Xenia in 1/24 and sell out before minichamps is ever produced, based on past history. Easy for me to say since it isnt my money. Chromes announced a Voisin C 25....the 2011 Pebble Beach winner some time ago and it is scheduled for around May. Minichamps also announced the same car this year for delivery in the spring of 2013. Well, my minichamps will look cool next to my Embiricos Bentley and my Alfa 2900B lungo 1/18. The Minichamps Mullin cars are a great list but I also think they might be smoke.

Say what? The 1/24 version is still on the Automodello website!

Not tryng to challenge you Richard, as I may well have missed it, but what is the source for your comment that they have abandoned it?
