In their heyday FRANKLIN MINT offered up some of the best replicated cars in 1:24 scale, and in fact, at times led the pack.  As I've mentioned before, I LIKE CAMARO'S!  FM hit the ball out of the park with their version of the Z/28!  I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if THIS Camaro from FM wasn't on my shelf!  It's spectacular!

In 1969 Chevrolet redefined High Performance!  They delivered on that redefinition with the CAMARO Z/28!  And FRANKLIN MINT shrunk it to perfection so we could all have one of our own.

FM 69 CAMARO Z28 #1
FM 69 CAMARO Z28 #2
FM 69 CAMARO Z28 #3
FM 69 CAMARO Z28 #4
FM 69 CAMARO Z28 #5
FM 69 CAMARO Z28 #6
FM 69 CAMARO Z28 #7
FM 69 CAMARO Z28 #8

Look at the above Brochure and then look at the model.  This is real life man!

A nice one. Great colors. This is the 1st FM Camaro to join my collection-I bought it from the FM store during a visit at the mall.

George:  This is one of my favorites just for the color combo.  It just makes it stand out in the crowd.

Which Mall was that John?  I'm assuming NOT the FM store that was at the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota.

No George-never been there. It was the 12 Oaks Mall in Novi, Michigan. I used to love that store. I visited frequently. Funny, now I can't even remember the last time I was at a mall-it's been years.

I too, visited the Mall of America often when the Franklin Mint store was there, and in fact, even worked at the store for 3 months just for kicks and giggles.  It was fun seeing the models when they came in and being to talk cars to folks as they visited the store.  Though the store sold other collectibles, the 1:24 scale model sales were responsible for over 60% of our monthly sales at the store.  Shows you how popular they were.

The only FM store I ever visited was the one on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills in 1992.  I don't recall seeing any model cars though but I may not have started collecting at that point. My sister purchased a replica Jackie Kennedy pearl necklace.

At the Mall of America Franklin Mint store in Bloomington, Minnesota back in the 1990's, they had half of one wall lined with shelves that was adorned with their 1:24 scale cars.  The rest of store was crammed with stuff I figured no body ever needed, but they had it.  I just remember that the manager of the store claimed that 67% of the stores revenue came from the diecast car sales.
