LOL! Do you think it's fair to compare disaster gouging with buying a 'Vette?

John, actually that IS the law! As a businessman, I can sell a product for any price I want. On the other hand, you have the right not to buy it! The exception is when a disaster has occurred and gouging laws are in effect. May I suggest you look it up? It's called CAPITALISM! The other system you speak of is called SOCIALISM.

LOL!!

If you have business ethic.............

you respect your customers. The dealerships that do these kind of business practices have nothing to gain at a customer's trust point of view.

Those in Europe who want a Corvette.......

can afford to import from USA and pay the duties.

I am not sure if they can be serviced over there, I have never seen a Chevy dealer in Germany or any other countries of the EU.

To ask 400K is ridiculous when you can buy the real thing for 80K.

I don't judge your business principles but..........

I have mine in my own business. If I am not fair with my pricing strategy, my customer will go to the competitor and I will lose business volume.

As a value, I prefer to build my business on trust and fairness instead of greed and scam of the market.

There will always be people with money to throw out of the window but remember that it is a shame that America continue to project this image worldwide.

Back to the Dodge Challenger...i would have a lot more fun with a Corvette and it is a lot better engineered.

& where would you like your Socialist Powder Blue Impala delivered?

But I want a CORVETTE! so much for Socialism. I don't like over sticker but it is the sellers right to ask and maybe even demand. You are correct only in a National Disaster can you be punished for Gouging. You Know Water for $10.00 a bottle, oh it already there then Milk at $5 whoop that's there too I guess we are all being Gouged. This recession isn't a declared National Disaster Yet! Never will be, one of the Politicos wants to redistribute the Major Oil Companies Profits and that really sounds like SOCIALISM. I think that failed in the USSR a few Years back Like 20 or so.

About three months ago the Supreme Court made a descission that a manufacturer could hold out and set a Fixed Price. They were however Very Careful to not call it PRICE FIXING. This is going to cause problems as more & More manufacturers realize this descission allows them to do it! Honda and Nissan Rigidly control what their dealers sell cars for It is set in stone as far as those two so look for it to spread.
