2010 Concours d'LeMons Monterey (pic)

I'm editing photos from yesterdays Concours
d'LeMons in Monterey and just gotta say how much I enjoyed
this show.

Where else can you find a mint 56 Lincoln Continental Mark II
in the spectator parking lot, and a 78 Mercury Sedan in the winners circle, getting an award for the best Pimp-Mobile ?

Where else can you find a car show with Pintos, Trabants
(there were two), Citroen 2CV, Pacers, a Pontiac Aztec (got an
award for ugliest SUV), and a 2011 Bentley that was
recognized as the car with the most precipitous deprecation.
And, what car show can you go to where there were no 55 to
57 Chevys, no Camaros and no Mustangs?

This a a fun fun show. I'm going to take the video camera next
year, as the comments by the judges during judging and
awards presentation were priceless!

The guy who does "Chasing Classic Cars" was there driving the only known restored 3 wheel Davis. He said his crew was filming the meet, and to watch for it in an upcoming episode of his series.

More photos coming...

PIC - Hey, that looks familiar ...

The gold on the headlight doors is incorrect. It always matches the paint not the top even though it does have a vinyl top texture. See my all original 77. The maroon one is a Grand Marquis, note the lower side moulding. Mine is the Marquis Brougham. Then there was the base Marquis.

Doug your Marquis is FAR nicer!

That other one is guady looking and done in poor taste IMO These were beautifully styled elegant cars that didn't need any add ons or colorful paint schemes to make a statement. A lesson of LESS being MORE!

perhaps I did, but it was a general statement

Here in NY i constantly find that when I do see an older car its either riding on 20" rims, slammed to the ground, is placed on a 4X4 platform or some other type of horror! ๐Ÿ™

Doug you didn't notice that it has the Lincoln polished alluminum dish rims

These were commonly used on mid 70s Mark IVs and if you look you will even see the Lincoln emblem in the center! LOL

Actually, I did notice the rims. I just thought they may have been an option for the Marquis.

I didn't notice the Lincoln emblem in the center though. Good eye Phil.
