In 1950, while recovering from an injury, the Caped Crusader designed and built this "high tech" Batmobile.

One of the features on this long wheelbase was its mobile crime lab should he need to analyze clues far from the Bat Cave. This  car would serve the Dynamic Duo well throughout the 1950s. This is a Johnny Lightning kit build with a pre-painted diecast body. If you look at the chassis shot, you can see how futuristic it was for 1950... it looks like a 1959 Cadillac! The retro-futuristic interior is very imaginative with little definitive details from the comic books so I got to have some fun deciding on paint schemes. I probably built this about 15 years ago but, if you're a "Bat Nut" like me, it seems to be still available.

Also in the 1950s, if they had a 'need for speed' and you didn't want your crime lab trashed, there was also a V12 powered roadster.
