this 1931 Ford Deluxe Roadster w/ Rumble Seat. The Model A was launched in 1927 as a much more sophisticated replacement to the Model T which as an entry level vehicle was beginning to lose out to the likes of newer Chevy models. By the last year of 1931, the Model A was also showing its age as it still ran the now archaic 200 cid 40 hp 4 cylinder although it it could propel the car, fully loaded, to 75 mph. The Deluxe Roadster still sold 68,335 units in 1931 before it was replaced the following year by the upgraded 4 cylinder Model B and the V8 powered Model 18.
Model by Danbury Mint.
A grand old lady after only four years but still a noteworthy Ford in modern times. Thanks Rich.
@david-green Well said David. I have restored 8 Model As and the details on the DM models is really quite good. I was just studying Rich's pictures and DM even included the choke button on the right side under the dash.
Fine images of this excellent Danbury Mint 1/24 model. The real Ford is a classic and DM captured it's look beautifully, as the photos show here. Nice !
