Here is a MPC 71 Dodge Demon that I just finished today.  Went together fairly well.  Enjoy.

Sweet Mopar John. Looks great in Lemon Twist. Looks like another one to add to the ever growing kit collection. I'll never live long enough to get all I have now built, lol.😟💯

Geno:  After looking at the photos again, to me it looks terrible.  Now from a distance it's okay.  I thought my steady hand on the back black area was good, but the photo shows how bad it is.

@carsman1958 Hmm, John, did it come with a decal for the back panel? Just curious. I have taped off panels, rubbed the tape down good to get the panel lines showing through the tape, trim it out, then rub the tape back down really good where you trim it out, so as not to get any bleed under the edges. Also use painters tape if you can. Helps with the nice sharp edge lines. Paint it, let the paint set up a bit, then peel it off. Nice and straight. Hope that helps. It sounds more complicated than it is. Really.😊

@geno After I finished the model I did pull out the decals and I believe there is a back panel.  I'm just not a fan of using the decals.  I have tried painters tape in the past and it bled under the tape.  Maybe it was bad tape.  I will try again on next model.  Thanks for the tips.

It is made in 1/64th diecast Tony. Hot Wheels did the model in various colors.

Demon 340 a
Demon 340 b

Johnny Lightning also did the same model in various colors. The Johnny was a bit better.

Demon 71 yellow 4
Demon 71 yellow 3

I know what you mean about the camera seeing more than meets the eye John. It used to make me pretty angry and frustrated when I seen my own photos, especially with the little diecast 1/64th scale. A hobby shop owner turned me on to this special masking tape for models that works great. No bleeding of the paint. It comes in all different widths too.

Tape

I have built 3 of these Demon kits so far. I waited nearly 40 years for this one to be released because I owned two 71 Demon 340s in my "HEY~DAYZZ" I started building models of the cars I owned several years ago.

Model Collage 71 Duster 340 a
Model Collage 71 Cutlass
Model Collage 75 Scamp
Model Collage 71 Demon 340 b
Model Collage 82 Mustang
Model Collage 99 E 250

These are the 3 Demon kits I have built so far. I posted little tips and tricks for a more authentic look all over the net where ever I could. Detailing the grill, raising the stance and painting your own hood stripes. The decals were way too small.
You did a fine job on yours my friend.

Thank you both John and Geoff. I will do my best to keep posting here. It's a great site for sure and I love the model building and diecast collecting hobby, and have for over 60 years. Fighting cancer for the last 18 years has taken a bit of a toll on my 71 year old body and I am not as active as I used to be and want to be. Thank you guys for the kind words and I will for sure be popping in on those good dayzzzz...
