I can picture Mickey Rooney picking up Judy Garland for a date at the malt shop in an Andy Hardy flick in this 1935 Chevy rag top.. This little model is nicely done offering proper textures and little fun details like the Chevy 'bowtie' embossed on the clutch and brake pedals. When you're done collecting prewar Duesenbergs, Caddies and the like, it's nice to have cars of the common folks.
I love it! I always had a soft spot for the 1930s era cars.
Didn’t realize the bow tie design went back that far.....interesting,thanks!
@larry-kemling The Chevy "Bowtie" was introduced in 1913 by co-founder William C. Durant on two 1914 models.
I have always liked this model. About a year ago I was able to pick up the green one on the old auction site to go with this brown one.
@bob-jackman I have the green one too. I picked this one because it just looks more period to me.
Mickey Rooney had a famous quote. When being interviewed once, he was asked how that, given his short stature, and less-than-leading-man image, he attracted (and marry) so many beautiful women. He said, "Money makes you handsome".
nice, it's been on my to get list for a long time.
