My first car was a 1937 Studebaker Dictator sedan. My motivation for buying it was that it was $25.00 and it ran. The Studebakers I have always wanted are the 50/51 bullet nose cars, the 53 Starliner coupe, the Avanti and the GT Hawks. A few years ago I managed to buy a 63 Avanti with factory A/C and a Borg Warner Automatic transmission but part way through the restoration a friend made an offer I couldn't resist. I regret selling that car but I was building a 29 Model A Ford Roadster and didn't have the space or money to finish both. I have always wondered why I was born so poor instead of so good looking....oh wait that didn't happen either.

@bob-jackman LOL! That's a saying that has been in our family for decades - wish I was born rich instead of so good looking! Mom said it often. Cool

The maroon shown on this coupe is my favorite color for it; the yellow being my fave for the convertible.

A car that since I first laid eyes on it as a kid, looked like it was going backwards and frontwards at the same time.  It was odd looking then, and still is today.  So odd looking that it's not even close to a car that I'd ever have considered wanting to own.

But when this DM model and the others of this car from them came out,  I couldn't order it fast enough.  This car exemplifies automotive styling at its worst (at least in my opinion), and that alone made it a "must have" model to have in my collection.  It always draws attention, followed by discussion.

Great pics John!
