As DM excelled with their models from 1948, they surrounded them with wonderful examples from 1947 & 1949. Today I'm featuring these gems from '47.

what a beautiful pair John. I ordered the maroon version at issue. Missed a few opportunities to land a beige one. Real sorry now
Simply incredible! Both the models and the photos! So glad I have them parked in my parking lot of models.

Not all of them were up to DM standards but some got out that were flawless. It looks obvious that John got one of the latter. Gorgeous color for THAT car!!
Love these in any scale...and the pics too.

My father's first new car after leaving the Navy and siring me. Totaled within the year by a Manhattan trolley car. Followed up with a '48 Mercury.

Looks like I got a (near) flawless one too. Actually when I bought mine, there were some indicators in the advertising of it that it was a "1 of 1" model. In fact, we had a long discussion about it here on the Forum. At the time I was expected to believe/accept that the seller did not intentionally insinuate that the model was what he said it was, that being a "1 of 1". Turns out the model was supposedly rejected by Danbury Mint, but the China factory produced some anyway, or something like that. Bottom line for me, is the car is beautiful and whether it is a "1 of 1" or "1 of a million", I like the model and glad I have it.
