This Rolls Royce Silver Ghost chassis #54PB was built in 1914 at the advent of WWl and was bodied just after the war in 1919 by the German firm of Shapiro & Schebera to have a skiff-back designed boat tail fashioned from Cuban mahogany. The chassis alone cost $200,000 in today's money. It was bought by a French concern headquartered in Egypt and remained there until the 1950s. The Egyptian climate and decent maintenance is probably why the car exists today with its original wood and metalwork. This one of their really nice Franklin Mint Rolls Royce models from their early days.
Why does my original of the same model never look as good as Rich's photographs???
Have it, love it. Rich, I'm sure it is one of many models you sold me with your pictures and writeups

@stanton-lyman Before the shoot, the model spent hours in hair and makeup.
