From our beloved "Archives of April Series",DCS Media proudly presents:
The Man in the Yellow Hat Knows a lot About Cars...Pictures for All / Stories for Evan
The Man in the Yellow Hat spoke at length of the desirable features to be found in the wonderful little Gogomobil car,and even more on the pair of sparkling new LLoyd Alexanders .....He was affable, eloquent, and confident. He had a charismatic delivery.
Not a one of us had the heart to tell him that we did not speak French....But we all enjoyed the balloon animals. And at the end of the speech, we were, each one of us, given a key-ring and an ink pen to take home
Later that evening, over cocktails at the Sizzler, our friends asked if we`d had any issues with the driving pigs.
We curtly replied that we hadn`t.
It wasn`t until the following day that we learned of the pig incident. And just how lucky our early departure timing decision had been.
Nice pics, I enjoy your presentations, it must take a lot of time to put them together.
Love the presentation JB. I have the Gogomobil and Lloyd Alexander but mine are in 1/18 scale.

Funny funny story about that Bob.......these cars all USED to be 1/18, but that was some time back.....what with escalating fuel prices, and the cost of a SINGLE plastic apple now hovering in the $2 range, your average resin character is looking for more and more ways to s-t-r-e-t-c-h their meager wage and benefit packages......if that means passing off the odd LLoyd or Gogo as a spacious full-size,financially unobtainable, Tudor, who are we to second guess them ?......
and let`s not forget just how difficult it can be to SELL a 1/18 behemoth to the father just getting his kid that first car...Slap a 24 sticker on that puppy and just watch it FLY off the lot
I think it all comes down to this Bob........what would Santa do ?????????

You are a priceless piece of work JB. In a world of "one size fits all" anything goes.

Yes...and the man is a master fisherperson too!
@jack-dodds Show a man how to catch a pay pond catfish, give him a chair in the warm April sun,and you STILL have to feed him forever
JB, you're nuts! Talented, but nuts! Are you gonna make fish sticks outta that whopper you caught?

If I may interject here for transparency sake....JB told me a while ago he had to give the fish back to the guy who caught it. And furthermore I will stick up for him and say that he is a talented artiste and story teller but definitely not nuts! Nuts is when you cut off your own ear like Vinnie.

yes.............but first we`ll need to fire up the duplicator machine

It takes a good while Evan......even so,from time to time,I find that I have left myself enough time with my brain in neutral that I become concerned that I haven`t cut the lawn since Hector was a pup......If I were able to drag out (extend) my photo sessions just a bit longer,I am convinced that my lawn worries would properly fade from applied inattention.....adding wildly implausible story lines (and thus creating additional hang time prior to publication) in anticipation of your acknowledging them, very much helps me to achieve my modest goals of freedom from lawn tyranny.....I am in your debt

everyone who even somewhat got along with Vinnie, would tell you the same exact thing......"try to get on his good side" they`d say

Not only could the man paint; he also had an ear for music.

I was unintentionally delayed in my response Jack.....that,and I was only half listening .......We now know that people in classic times would flock to Vincent for advice and commiseration......"Please Yon Vincent, lend us an ear" they would implore....and for the longest time,Vincent would do just that.
After a time,Vincent came upon a trio of troubadours that was down to it`s last two members.Unselfishly,Vincent offered the bereft rapscallions not only the LOAN of an ear,but the actual ear itself.Said appendage went on to front the group until 1893,when creative differences led the band members to go separate ways
For you see, prior to his lobectomy, Vincent had a sizable talent that went beyond portrait painting. When it came to MUSIC,Vincent was able to play by ear.
