A slightly earlier tin type model from Gonio / Kaden from the Czech Republic was the dry land (in this case, desert) counterpart, the VW Type 82 Kubelwagen. This is the Afrika Korps variant. Other variants included an ambulance. No longer in business, these early 1990s WWll models were quite popular in Europe despite the unusual (for Europe) 1/24 scale. Military modelers were used to 54mm or roughly 1/32 - 1/35 scale. The models sported working steering and operating panels with latched doors.
curse you Ned Flanders !!!!......just kidding, this is a remarkable piece

I'm sure your dear wife would be able to chip in to your model fund JB.....don't bother her with the whole "asking for money" thing; or even mention it . "What's hers is yours ......and what yours is yours".....you know, all that jazz we jabbered at the altar.
