This old Danbury Mint 1955 Oldsmobile "Super 88" convertible is grounded in old tech but offered some nice surprises upon its release. The model included a cloth covered top up option, a very detailed dash and, perhaps for the first time, 3-D castings for the the badges rather than tampos. It was good enough and popular enough to be issued as a repaint many years later. The engine compartment, actually wired, has a nice representation of the 324 cid "Oldsmobile Rocket" V8. The finish is in the very popular Polar White and Burlingame Red.
Nice model and one that can be had for a very reasonable price on the secondary market.
It looks great in the Red/White paint.
great pics as always Rich. One of my very very early Roy Rauch DM purchases from 20+ years ago
