                                                                                 1989 A SPACE ODDITY

This historic event occurred as described according to Forum close encounters historian Mr. J. Barry.  What was never publicly disclosed though was that this event was a simple error in communication that had dramatic and historic results.  Back in June 1989, Orsen The Great from planet Ork (yes THAT Ork) had provided secret written instructions that two Orkian agents must take an Aurora spacecraft to earth.  Their mission was to attend a suburban area in Texas near the Gulf and bring back two human specimens and a female dog for genetic examination.  Unfortunately the two aliens selected for the mission were Wayne Tharg and Garth Gronk, both of whom graduated at the bottom of their space cadet class.  On flight day a very nervous Tharg had their top secret hand written mission instructions drop unnoticed from his spacesuit pocket as he entered the module.  The missing documentation was noticed by them many hours after liftoff.  Fearing severe reprisals from the volatile tyrant Orsen, the two misfit aliens fatefully decided to rely on their spotty memory of the instruction sheet; remembering only the jumbled words Aurora, Texas, Gulf, Suburban male, female and dog.  Tragically this decision would have life changing repercussions for the spacemen. Mistakenly hovering over an area outside Aurora, Texas, the misguided aliens spotted a male, a female and a dog at a gas stop and beamed them aboard. They couldn't believe their luck when they found a Gulf and a Suburban at the same spot and with some difficulty, beamed them up as well.  Upon their return to Ork the dimwitted space cadets nervously presented their earthly cargo for inspection; whereupon Orsen The Great exploded in a rage of disbelief.  Orsen was greatly disappointed to find that the male named Larry was DOA from heart failure, however the busty and flirtatious female Betty appealed in an odd way that made his pelvic pulsator tingle to an embarrassing degree. The earthdog even proved to be a disappointment; when it lay down to relax and rolled over onto its back to soak up some cosmic rays it became apparent that it was no female.  This was the last straw for Orsen; he said nuts to the whole mission; calling it a complete balls-up.  After vaporizing Larry, he ordered that Betty spend the night in his amore cubicle and be returned to earth the following day with her dog by Tharg and Gronk.  Tragically on their return voyage home from earth their spaceship was "accidentally" rerouted to Pluto where, upon arrival, they were immediately devoured by a pack of comical looking dogs.  Orsen had the Gulf chopped to bits and blown into orbit as space junk.  Strangely the Suburban appealed to him though; to this day he reportedly keeps it parked outside his amore cubicle; some say as a permanent reminder of his encounter of the fourth kind with its owner busty Betty.  Betty Bibbs' story of her extraterrestrial one night stand was not believed and she was in fact thought by many to be mentally unhinged.  In frustration she decided to write a book about it; which although classed as science fiction, did generate film studio interest.  The movie 1989...A Space Oddity is currently in production.

Thank you for THIS.....the complete and unbiased accounting of the Aurora Abduction

....all of which, incidentally, served as inspiration to a certain Kurt Vonnegut who would shamelessly appropriate scads of details for his 6th novel "Slaughterhouse-Five"....Kurt circumvented the law by releasing his book a full 20 years prior to the Abduction....a neat old time trick he learned from Wayne and Garth while en-route to Ork

Are you sure that the beamed-up female wasn't the 'infamous' Betty Boop ?

Rumor has it that she was traveling across the Texas Plains along with David Vincent.

Seen one weekend and then...ZAP !....never to be seen again...

Betty BIBBS would like to reassure you that it was her, and not that "balloon headed bimbo" out on the highway that afternoon

Betty has also requested your home address, so that she might add you to her chain mail list

I hate to have to break it to you but that was a TV show called the Invaders (a QM Production), not the nightly news.  That was all made up; unlike Betty Bibbs' incredible and true 1989 escapade.

I'm not surprised...Vonnegut was always doing stuff like that when he was pissed.

@john-barry I agree about Quinn Martin.  Just look how he stereotyped that poor misunderstood one armed man....the guy couldn't catch a break what with that mumbling doctor Dick Kimble chasing him all those years.
