What's up with that “tonneau” over the back seat ?  Is it hiding something ?

I had the 1:1 and it appears when they put the top down, they did not extend the flip-out panel that would cover the area behind the rear seat.  That other white thing is most likely a cover for the rear seat area, when the top is down, to present it as a two-seat roadster.  It would have to be turned around 180 degrees, of course.  That would be my guess.

sorry to say that does not belong there and is not part of the model. When the boot is closed there is a piece (the long square piece visible in pic 2) that fits in neatly between the edge of the boot and rear seat area.

Hope it is OK. Its a great model of a great car.

I'm with Geoff. This is the 62 Sports Roadster. That means that it came new with a tonneau cover for the back seat. It covers it and makes the car look like a two-seat roadster.

Without the tonneau:

With it:

The steering column & wheels moves over from one side to the other to give the driver room to enter/exit, just like the real car. Careful as you move it Ben. Great model.
