Advice.....in the process of moving....and now packing the little cars into their boxes with all their packing materials.....I have 12 in each of special medium size rubber made plastic containers....sitting flat with the last two on end.....does it matter whether they are flat or on end for a couple of weeks? They will be personally transported in my car with me.....!! I am a wreck.
Alan, If the USPS or UPS couldn't hurt them, why would you?
Don't sweat it.

Alan before you make a fatal mistake....
send them all to me for "safe-keeping". I'll watch over them for ya 😉
Packing advice....
My experience has been that the 2 factors which are bad for cars in boxes(regardless of their position) is: 1) heat, and 2) the styro up against the paint, which can cause scuffing. If you put a piece of tissue between the paint and the styro, and keep the boxes away from excessive heat, you should be ok.
I agree about putting tissue paper between the car and the foam. I use kleenex keep them half fold and put it across the top of each cars or pickups... and close the top foam on
top of it... and I pack all my cars in boxes right side up as possible when i
moved. and I have moved 5 times so far and no damages to my cars so far...
well, maybe one or two... and it take alot of time to pack each one of those
cars... I started packing about a month or two before my moving date. so that
i do not rust packing them and risk of breaking them when do it last minute.
