Dear Club Members:
The diecast.org site is a custom site that requires maintenance. We used to pay for this maintenance with the Auction commission and fundraisers. We have not had any auction sales for a few years now, and we do not have any money to continue the website maintenance. The website is currently experiencing a critical error and we need to hire IT immediately to keep it up and running. We are implementing an annual $25.00 dues to members now to cover this expense. All members, please send $25.00 USD by Paypal to club@diecast.org Please include your name and preferred e-mail in the message field when you send your dues.
- E-mail club@diecast.org and request an alternate payment method if you do not have a PayPal account.
Going forward the annual dues will continue to be this very nominal charge of only $25.00 If anyone would also like to make a donation to the club, that would be greatly appreciated. Please send any donations to the same club@diecast.org Paypal address.
We will work to add some perks for the members. Exclusive models and discounts, model giveaways, raffles, etc. The first perk that will be exclusively for Club Members, is a code for 15% off all pre-orders from Mint Models mintmodels.com or Legacy Diecast legacydiecast.com that you will receive after you pay your dues. For almost 30 years, the Club has been the best community for model car collectors, and we all need to keep it going.
Thank you!
The Diecast Zone Model Car Club
We have all heard your concerns about public vs private. The site will be made available to the public for viewing. Only paid members will be able to post and comment.
** Addendum:
To pay by check
Send $25.00 USD and make the check out to The Diecast Zone.

We also just had Legacy create a way to do it on their website for us in case people only want to pay their dues by Credit Card. Link:

I just sent $50 and did so gladly. As Bob J. says, it is a bargain for the daily pleasure it provides.
@jack-dodds Jack, I too sent $50.00. Great minds think a lot.
Jack, I note that the new annual subscription for the average forum member is $25, so I am guessing you have calculated your donation on a sliding scale based on the value of one's personal contribution to the forums in terms of relative IQ content.I just sent $50 and did so gladly. As Bob J. says, it is a bargain for the daily pleasure it provides.
I have to agree this seems only fair and have decided to follow your example, although as a true Scot I do grudge parting with $480 and can only hope that the information and amusement I may derive from membership in the coming year will justify this not inconsiderable outlay.

Graeme I believe you have missed placing a decimal point......nonetheless your well thought out and deeply cerebral daily offerings are respected and appreciated.
I will add in response to your relative IQ comment, and this may surprise you, that I do not have any relatives who possess a remarkable IQ, although several are outstanding banjo pickers and still operators.
@jack-dodds Jack, your relatives sound like nice folks and there's a need for banjo pickers and still operators.
done from me too. Just a thought, re
That does concern me as it would discourage any potential new members, after all none of us here are getting any younger. Is there anyway that a portion of the site could be viewed by non members? Perhaps the current days postings only? The forums will also move to be private and only viewable to paid Club Members after log in
@bob-jackman They are nice folks Bob...mainly because they're sippin' on a jug most days. A couple of them have most of their teeth too.
Done! Happy to help and as Bob J. said, it's a bargain.
