...in 1940. Starting in 1936, the Alvis Car & Engineering Co produced luxury touring cars in Coventry, England. This model represents one of only 12 built.... the 1937 Alvis 4.3 'Short Chassis' Tourer with coachwork by Vanden Plas 'Sports Four-Seater'. The triple carbed 4.3 liter '6' produced 137 hp and was capable of 100 mph. One of these rare beauties with a RAC racing pedigree sold for just under $700,000 in 2017.
