Danbury Mint began to catch up to FM with this 1940 Ford Deluxe 8 Coupe released in 1993. It was reasonably contented for the time, the shut lines were tight and aligned and the finish was flawless. Granted, this cherry red color was not offered for 1940 but, as was the marketing strategy at the time, was employed to pop off the page on the Sunday "Parade" newspaper supplement to attract impulse buyers. The tooling and development cost were amortized many times over as it was re-issued over time as repaints including a Coca-Cola liveried model.
