The only kit I've actually built box stock. This was the first kit I had built in over 20 years, I built it for the Toledo Show, so it's not quite up to standards of more recent builds I've done but I think it still holds it's own for being about 10 years old. I do my best to try to make them look as good as the DM/FM/GMP models I have so they don't look out of place amongst those models.
Geno, another beautiful model. How do you get your paint so smooth and shinny? Also are you using bare metal foil for the trim?
Thanks for the kind words John, I just use soapy water and I start with a 6000 grit polishing cloth, then move to 8000, then finially 12000, I then use Turtle Wax liquid polishing compound on a wet rag to polish them, then a microfiber towel to bring out the shine. Dependent on how the paint lays down I can get by with polishing once, sometimes it takes 2 or 3 rounds. Oh yeah, that is after I apply decals and they've been cleared. And yes, I use Bare Metal Foil lol, a lot of it.
Awesome Geno! You just need to add FM's '70 Chevelle SS 454 to complete the GM fearsome foursome!
No doubt they look as good as the Mint models. That GSX would look good on any shelf.
Thanks guys, Pete, I do have the blue FM '70 Chevelle which I also acquired at the Toledo show but it was after those pics were taken, I guess that gives me another photo op. lol.
thats amazing Geno, like John I too was admiring the paint work and chrome trim. Please keep your pics, and tips! coming.

Geno, you're killing me. That Buick GSX is in my favorite color for it and your work makes in look like a mint model. I would love to have it on my model car shelves. WOW! I am just floored at how skilled you are. Over the decades I've attempted many times to build a model, and all I get out of it as frustration. I don't have the skill or patience. Man, I envy you! Do you want to sell the GSX? I'm will to chat about it.

Thanks guys, really. George, that would be a tough call. It's hard for me to part with them. I've been asked on several occasions if I would do builds for others but I've declined because of timing. I really have to be in the right mood to work on them to make sure I get this kind of result lol. I get so meticulous at times I'll have over a year in a build easily. I have partially built them, completely tore down and redone some because they weren't up to my liking. I guess I get anal on them sometime lol. That can be good or bad I guess depending on how you look at it. I've got an upcoming model I'll be posting that I done 3 times to get it right..
+1 to EVERY comment / compliment posted here.
Thanks Geno,
Steve

Thank you Geno, I understand. But please know the interest is there from me if you should like to discuss it. As for your being anal about the quality of your work, never beat yourself up for wanting something to be as perfect as it can be. You have a talent/gift, pat yourself on the back for jobs well done.
