I picked this one up dirt cheap because of issues and completely redone it other than paint colors. I'd tried several times to get a HT as a starting point but every time I bid on one I got beat out. It started out as this.
And ended as this lol. I wanted a HT. to complete my tri-fecta of red/white tri-five hardtops. The list of changes:
-convertible to HT. The top came from an FM Fire Chief model, from Hollis. Hole filled and repainted.
-detailed the interior further and removed rear side windows.
-added an antenna and the chrome V8 emblems below the tail lights.
-added spare to trunk.
-removed the 'roid, sectioned, rebuilt original bumper as I liked the fancier end caps versus what comes on non-conti-kit models. Sent to Little Motor Kar for chroming, Dale done a great job.
-added tailpipe made from aluminum rod to replace missing tailpipe.
-added photo-etch door and trunk lock assemblies.
-removed the tampos and added photo-etch BelAir logos and emblems above side trim.
-added spotlight to replace the one missing from the Fire Chief top.
-moved the license plate from Conti-kit to trunk and added custom plate.
Whew, I think that's it. Thanks for checking it out guys, it is appreciated.[:D]
Oh yeah, and a good polishing to bring out that shine.[:D]
