I remember being quite happy when TFM announced a 1955 Ford Crown Victoria. As a kid, I was always fascinated by those cars with the green Plexiglas half tops. I can't say I was particularly thrilled with their choice of black and white tutone. It had some interesting features that included 3-D badging although the scripts and escutcheons were still tampos. The dash was nice and the engine compartment was a little bit busier than prior releases. If I had any patience, I would have waited for a repaint in a more pleasing color combo.
I’ve had this one on display for many years, still like it.

I saw this model in the Parade Magazine supplement to the Sunday newspaper and was all Ga-Ga the second I saw it for a few reasons.
1) It was a Crown Victoria and I love their look since I first spotted them as a kid when I was six years old.
2) I loved the innovative plexi-glass sun-roof.
3) I was intrigued by the multitude of color combinations that were available in '55 for them. I was happy when Danbury and Franklin released this model in several color combinations, and I bought them all.
These models have held up well.
