Well said, and well thought out, Marlowe. Although many would not be thrilled with your choices, it's still a business, after all. We've all seen the consequences of "leading with your heart" in what happened to West Coast Precision Diecasts (yes, there might have been other factors involved). I guess we should all cross our fingers and hope for a fellow enthusiast with near-unlimited funds to enter the production field (LOL) !!
WOW...1 mill??? - why did i think it was $300k?
Ron, I don't think $1 Mil is correct. Most estimates I've seen range between $100K to $200K.
One thing I have to disagree with Marlowe, and that's the possibility of different configs, thereby eliminating the Riv, Toro, etc.How about the two seater T-Birds and Corvettes? No other configurations to stretch the tooling with those, and yet we see re-paint after re-paint. The same could be done with Rivs, etc.
Everything on the list I sent them starting with my 1958 Lincoln Continental Mark III. The day after this new PS piece!!!!!
LOL, but the key word here is "IF" I were appointed CEO...
... I think this would be my approach. Not to worry, DM hasn't contacted me for the position so my best guess is they're not interested.
I've always heard the cost was around $200,000. I think that million figure is bogus info.

I'd buy any and all colors of a Riviera and Toronado.

I'm still shocked that you don't have the first generation Riviera in 1/24. It seems so obvious.
