Now a subsidiary of Auto Union, Horch released this 853 Sport Cabriolet in 1935. It immediately topped the luxury car market offering pure opulence and speed but priced well under its Mercedes counterpart. The coachwork was all done in-house at their factory in Zwickau although the chassis could be bought separately if other coach designs were desired. At 5798 lbs, its 5 liter SOHC straight 8 producing 105 hp could propel the car to 81 mph. If not an Autobahn screamer, it offered a beautiful highway cruiser.
Love the Horch!! In those colors with the Landau roof - CLASSIC! Wonderful pics Pal!!
A great model. I have it in dark red/maroon. Superb pictures as always Rich.
Great images of one of my favourite (Not British) cars of the 1930s. Thanks Rich.
OK Rich, as usual you got me up looking at detail your pics reveal that I hadnt spotted, in this case some of the interior on my green top down convertible and red top up version. Somehow the silver/black combo just looks more elegant.
