Been pondering this question...........................Is our
attention span that short that we can't enjoy our past purchases and only have a new issue to comment on? Many if not most of us have many cars in our collections. I for one like to look at what I DO have and marvel at the technology that went into making them, how close they resemble a 1:1 and what memories some of them bring back from our youth. I'm sure that is why most of us got into collecting die-cast in the first place. Why can't we concentrate on those aspects of our hobby until this drought eases?
EXCELLENT comment!
This may be the most realistic and intelligent comment I've seen posted here in a while. I own 250+ die-cast. I surely can comment and talk about models for the next two years and models I OWN not models I want to buy! I'm going to bring back my "model of the day" post. I did this several years ago but one thing lead to another and I no longer posted it. I think I'll start next week. Every couple of days I'll post a picture of a die-cast thats in my collection starting with the oldest one working my way to the newest (meaning chronogical order from 1907-2000s).
Well stated Tom.... And like Phil, I have 250+ 1:24's and was posting pics of them....
Also from oldest to latest by year, but it got to the point that my posts were getting over-whelmed with 1:1 and extras and comments about them(my pics) dwindled to nothing. So I ceased the effort..... Maybe I will bring them back......... if I can remember where I left off.... LOL
I'm loving this new energy, folks. Much as I enjoy 1:1 cars, I come to talk about and see models.

+1, Tom..
..I agree. I took my '10 TFM Cad 30 out tonight and really enjoyed it..as I always do. Wood, brass, pinstripes. What can be bad, no one did these like TFM. I miss them.
I think the issue with collecting, though, isn't just 'Using', it's 'Having', so there's this sense for some of 'Missing' when they cannot have more. I just hope we don't lower our 1:24 expectations or standards. I for one, as Tony P once famously said, "Want it all".
I like that idea!
LOL......Start from the beginning
Attending my niece's weding in New Hampsha..and will continue posting from my collection in a day or two. I love looking at other's cars and how they are photographed. It also gives me insight about adding cars to my collection. I wish more folks would take the time and post.
Very true.....Want it all. Ask my wife about that! LOL
Great ideas guys. I'll jump in too.
IS it the original black one? I own and LOVE that model

Ditto - PIC........

This is an excellent idea, Tom!
Yes, let's trust that the future will work itself out, and meantime enjoy what we have.
Good thoughts Tom. If I wasn't so lazy....
I'd enjoy showcasing a favorite "golden oldie" once in a while, with a few pics and random thoughts about what appeals to me, and what drove me to acquire a model. I certainly enjoy it when others do so, and we have some wonderful photogs on this site. Maybe I'll get inspired this Fall/Winter and try a couple. I've sold a lot of my 1/24, but still have plenty of goodies in the display cases, as well as 1/18 & 1/43.
