This 1936 Packard 1407 Twelve Dual Cowl Sports Phaeton was probably the high watermark for Packard's vision of what the marque should be: luxury, power and exclusivity. Loaded with luxe amenities, striking aerodynamic design cues and their 175 hp 473 cid flathead V12 that matched the output of Cadillac's complicated OHV V16, this custom bodied phaeton by Dietrich was built as orders for expensive custom coachwork were waning favorinh more conservative and practical designs that could be done in house. Although Packard survived the war years, economics necessitated Packard morphing into producing mid priced automobiles before its reign ended in 1957.
Likewise, this Danbury Mint model, as one of their last releases, was also a high watermark as well as their swan song. It's beautifully crafted with a presence that begs it to be showcased.
Sure is a beautiful model.

What a gorgeous car and 1/24 model of it from Franklin Mint ! It certainly would be a stunning replica on display.
@mikedetorrice It's from Danbury Mint, Mike. FM was long gone when this model was released.
stunning presentation, thanks Rich. So glad I have the model. Would loved to have paired it with the coupe that was never made, which Tony has posted pics of.

Ooops, I fat-fingered that one, Rich ! It certainly is superb diecast model from Danbury and a great automotive subject.
A stunning model. Nice to see the partition decking raised and the richness of the interior; not to mention engine bay and dash.
