Has anyone purchased a diecast car from an eBay seller in China?  I know eBay will add sales tax to the transaction, but what about any customs tax?  Is there an issue with that?  If there is, what would be the rate?  I found something I’m interested in, but won’t purchase if it’s a hassle.  Thanks for any info.

I've bought quite a few things from China, though it's probably not helpful to your query as they came to U.K. and France.  But in both countries they were not charged import duties. In the U.K. items were delivered by the 'internal' carrier - Royal Mail - who do not charge duties: these are handled by ParcelForce, whom at the same time were charging huge duties on U.S. imports.  It is as if they believed items from China were low cost and not worthy of charging infrastructure. That's all I could conclude.

In Australia we only? have a standard sales tax rate of 10% applied to all transaction costs, including postage regardless of the source country. Not sure if that helps tho Pete

I have bought some items from Hong Kong and they didn't charge a customs fee.
