This one-off copper-bodied 1921 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost dual cowl roadster began as a running chassis built and assembled at their London and Derby, England plants and shipped to Brockman Coachbuilders to build this body from sheets of copper to avoid welds and rivets. The accessories are in nickel and German silver. The interior trim was done in Makash ebony, so rare that they had to buy the whole tree. The car exists today, fully restored and its 454 cid six is still capable of silent highway speeds. The Franklin Mint model, like the 1:1 offers flame-like psychedelic reflections that still fascinate me.
Shines just like polished gold.
A lovely car, but are you sure it is not a Phantom (I) ? I don't think they were making any other chassis at this time - perhaps still the Silver Ghost ?
I have just checked, Phantom did not start until 1925 so perhaps this is a typo/ Ghost ?
@charles-rockett My bad. Its a Silver Ghost.
@rich-sufficool I think these names are so ubiquitous - especially given they're all silver - this is a typo, for sure.
amazing model. Fascinating car. thanks Rich
Glad to have the model. Thanks to either Rich or Tony back in the day.
