Do you remember the cost of gas in the embargoes of the early 1970's, the cost of insurance for us younger drivers, and the gas guzzling muscle cars we wanted to drive? That was a bad combination. This diorama pays homage to the fact that the "fun days" of the time ran out and many of our fun adventure cars ended up on used car lots worth zilch. Little did we know that some day in the future they would be so valued at some auctions.
These pics were left out out the previous post. Closer view of the Car lot, garage on the bottom, and sport cars on top shelf.

OMG! Steve your collection is incredible with a mix of everything nostalgic thrown in. You've really taken collecting and living the good old days seriously...good for you! And THANKS for sharing with all of us! I can't stop looking at all you have. WOW!

@stewil the settings are fantastic Steve, cant just view them once as George says! Would love to find the guy reading the newspaper. Would be perfect character for a bus top diorama I have. Thanks for posting these.
Love the dioramas and writeup Steve. I was there with my 69 Buick Skylark GS 400.
Awful nice display! Love all your dioramas. It is hard to pick a favorite.

@geoff-jowett And I got to spend several hours with them in person. Each time I made another round, I discovered something different. Truly incredibly curated collection that tells a deeper story the more you explore it.
would have been a great experience Randy. Like Bobs collection, it would be great to see Steve's collection shared with the wider car appreciation community. Of course subject to your approval Steve!@geoff-jowett And I got to spend several hours with them in person. Each time I made another round, I discovered something different. That is a Preiser figure Geoff, about as good as you could get for the price at the time.

That would be fine by me Geoff but not sure what you mean by "it would be great to see Steve's collection shared with the wider car appreciation community." Several car clubs and model buddies in the area have visited the collection over the years. Anyone visiting in the Denver area is welcome to "come on up," to 6200 feet in Castle Rock for a visit.

PS, thanks too for the Preiser figure tip
Yikes. I cannot imagine I will ever have as many models as I see in your individual collections, without ending up sleeping in the workshop. I would love to have wall cabinets such as those I see here, but I have another 'hobby' wherein I collect art and photography, so every inch (literally!) of wall space is occupied, as well under beds and a storeroom. I don't do as much work in the workshop, anymore, so maybe...
Wow, 8 pages of display stuff. Isn't this great? I'm sure enjoying it.💯👍
