Whether coming or going, it will always be a unique design.  Certainly one that garners a second and third look whenever you see them.  Danbury Mint nailed the beauty and oddity of these Studebaker's with their models.

Love these bullet nosed Studebakers. I have all of the DM models along with many 1/18 scale models as well.

If "dwarves" is the plural of dwarf, then it's not listed as such in the dictionary.  In fact, there is no plural listed at all for dwarf.  But for sure when there are 7 of them, it would be plural.  I prefer to go with the official Disney use of the word, and that is DWARFS.  I'm sure Walt knew.  Smile

I'm curious.  What is the breakdown on your models?  How many 1:24?  How many 1:43?  How many 1:18?  Other sizes?  And since it's been a couple of years since the TV special on your collection, what is the total count at today?  Grab a cup of coffee and start counting.  And thank you in advance for spending your afternoon to entertain us.    Smile

George, I will try to find the time to update the count. The majority of my current purchases are by far 1/43 as I still have some room left for that scale. I occasionally pick up a 1/64 if it's a good model and fits in with those of the 1/18 and 1/24 scales.

@bob-jackman

thank you!  LOL, take your time, but hurry up.  Smile Seriously, just teasing you.  I know taking inventory on your models is likely equivalent to a 40 hour work week.

Really great models. The '50 & '51 Studebakers are incredibly well done by DM, such a unique 1:1.

@georgeschire There may have been changes over the years in the OED, but I remember 'dwarves' as being correct.... much like scarf to scarves.

@rich-sufficool, Hey, works for me.  LOL, no matter how it is spelled, I think in today's politically correct world, the word itself is no longer acceptable.  Agree or disagree, that is the way it is.

Interesting commentary here. I Dont Know

Dwarfism is an actual condition spelled out by medical definement. I think the term Midget is one which is offensive and frowned upon. BUT; I'm really stumped by where Hobbits fit into the conversation! Laugh

Sadly, most everything and anything is offensive today.  Not saying changes weren't needed, but PC has been taken to a level that is absurd.  Don't say "Good Morning" to anyone anymore, you may be offending them if they are not having a "good morning".  I actually had a person I worked with, tell me that.  He responded to me, "It's offensive that you say good morning, when you have no idea what kind of morning I'm having".  I looked at him, and just walked away.
