this 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300D Cabriolet, inspired by Chancellor Konrad Adenauer's commissioned custom 300 sedans, cabriolets and Landaulet parade cars of the mid-fifties, debuted built on the brand new limousine length W189 chassis. Ultimately the moniker"Adenauer" was attached to this series that were produced until 1962. This D series offered new body work with a unique hard top configuration that transformed it into a pillar-less phaeton. The model finished in Crystal Green is by CMC.
Really well appointed and excellent competition for the Rolls. I saw several of these in Europe back in 1962.
@jack-dodds The chassis frame was massive to provide rigidity. The car weighed 4266 lbs. Only 65 cabriolets were built.
I was so excited when this was released I jumped on it! That rigid Frame held up too lol. CMC did some fine 1:24th models
