Alphonse’s ‘30 Cadillac arrived today, completing FM’s 3 piece gangster set for me. I’m very happy with the model, got it from eBay, as usual, and like new, but I have a question for the peanut gallery. Looking at the Caddie sitting next to the Fords looks like it could be 1/20 scale. I realize that they were very massive limousines, but…..what’s the verdict?

Kevin, it's just that the Caddy was so much bigger than the Fords. You're all good.💯😊

Geno is right Kevin, I have mine parked with other 30s Cadillacs in a wall display case and they are all around the same size.

I reckon this is the ultimate 1/24 Alphonse Cadillac, Esvals 1928 Town Sedan.

Great story on the actual car. https://www.hagerty.com/media/news/al-capones-bulletproof-1928-cadillac-town-sedan/

I have the red Esval 1928 Town Sedan, its a stunning model, albeit curbside. I'd add Al's in a heartbeat if I could find one at a price.

Congratulations Kevin! The Capone Caddy looks GREAT (literally & figuratively) with the other bad guy cars! I agree with Geno & Geoff; the model is large and is 1/24th scale. But don't forget to look at the Elliot Ness car as well. It's FM's 1932 Cadillac V-16 Sport Phaeton - Elliot Ness and comes with a lot of the same type of accessories.

Kevin, I agree with the above opinions that they are are all accurate 1/24 scale. if you see these Cadillacs, Packards, Duesenburgs, etc. in 1/1 scale, you realize just how big they really are. Years ago I owned a 1929 Pierce Arrow roadster which sat next to my 1930 Model A tudor sedan. The size differernce was incredible and made the Model A look like a toy.

@perrone1 I appreciate everyone’s replies and comments.. I remember being at the Ford Museum years ago and seeing some of the ‘30’s behemoths, just didn’t realize how big compared to a typical car of that era. I was never much of a collector of the “Classics” until recently, my interests started more in the ‘40’s to the 60’s. The Esvals look beautiful, I’ll have to look into that maker. As far as the Ness Caddie, I just turned one down on an eBay auction. Not that I don’t like good guys, the model just didn’t do it for me personally. I got into the Mint models relatively late in my collecting and I think I’m spoiled having next gen quality models as far as detailing and engineering. I don’t mean any disrespect saying this, but in my opinion, I think the Ness car looks kind of toy-like and mis-proportioned. Maybe if I saw it in person I’d change my mind, I’ve only seen pictures.
