Country of Manufacture of Franklin Mint Model Cars
I am from Germany, having all the time problems with the German customs concerning customs and tax fees when buying Danbury Mint or Franklin Mint model cars in the US.
Since the European Union and the United States are now fighting some war with protective duties I would have to pay an additonal customs fee (currently 9%) if I cannot prove that Franklin Mint model cars are not manufactured in the US. As far as I know they are manufactured in China or Korea. On Danbury Mint models there is a label stating "manufactured in Korea" but not on Franklin Mints.
So please: Where can I find some information proving where they are manufactured?
All Danbury Mint cars have a label "Made in China." Could not find markings on Franklin Mint. That should be your solution to Danbury Mint. You would have to contact Franklin Mint in order to verify their country of manufacture origin, which is also China.
Made in China, this information is on the hang tag.
Thanks to Bob
Bob, thank you very much. Hang tag - that's it!
I was already very close, but only looked at the inside.
You're welcome Rainer!....
I hope this saves you some aggravation and money.
BTW, some early FM models were produced in W.
Germany, Hong Kong, and possibly Macau.
