There has in the past been some chatter about Automodello that has had me wondering If buying from them is a wise thing to do.
I prefer calm waters when I hit the briney so even a whisper of a less than routine experience puts me off.
I'm not discouraged by resin as a modeling medium, in fact quite the opposite is true. I have several models built using resin kits, sometimes only a body is available and that's alright too. But to each their own.
I yearned for the 1938 Graham produced by Automodello and, or recently was, in stock, fortunate, because I really dislike paying up front for something that may only be at the early stages of planning but this does not apply to the '38 Graham. The potential for worrying experiences being part of the pre-pay purchase plan should not be ignored.

Contacting the guy there at Automodello I was impressed by his patience in guiding me through the buying process that allayed any retisence I had harbored resulting from the comments I had read on this forum that were none too flattering. From my days of collecting 1/43 handbuilts the situation of optimistic release dates not being met and delayed sometimes by months makes pre-paying a risky business. Besides, for those collectors who do front pre-pay green, are they offered the model at a discounted price?

Time has moved on now from then and the Graham still remains at Automodello's home base - unless they've sold out.

It was not because there is anything wrong with them that I can tell given that my own experience was indeed limited. Instead, my lumbering inaction not following through with the purchase was strictly financial- more than I wanted to pay for the Graham with its special body treatment that looks nice as a design, I have to say. But because I do prefer a factory body style and relate to those more. Fussy old geezer, but there you are.

They are both very nice. I buy what I like and don't put any stock in others chatter. I will buy the Eldorado when it comes out but not before.

Externally aside from the driver's mirror, Wheelcovers, lack of rear bumper reflectors, Park/Taillight lenses and non-hidden wipers a 69 is identical. Now the INTERIOR is different. Dash is almost the same but seat patterns and door panels are different on 69 VS 70-71. The models do display very realistically though considering theyre resin and static.
The Duesenberg Graber grew on me! At first I wasn't sold on it. It looked plain and very tame for a Duesenberg. BUT after living with it for a little while I came to love it! IT's an elegant car with a subtle but graceful shape IMO.
