Now this one brings back a memory from the year I graduated.  One of the girls in our graduating class was given this car by her parents for a graduation present.  I remember thinking (as did some fellow classmates did) how "lucky she was".  Though she was a nice enough girl, she had a certain "I'm better than you" attitude about her.  She was an only child and it appeared that her parents pretty much gave her anything she wanted.  While most of us went on to get jobs and attend college, she didn't.

As it turned out for her, she was married (5 times in all), had 4 kids, of which she pretty much ignored and her parents ended up raising them.  She suffered from depression, had a drinking and drug problem.

The lesson I see from what happened to her is that she was spoiled and didn't appreciate it.

Now none of this has anything to do with the Datsun, as it was a sweet car.  LOVE YOUR PHOTOS!

Interesting story George......we always seem to have a vivid recall of the "crazy" or "bad girls" we knew back when

My partner bought one of these Zs and the flywheel was so light and the clutch so heavy I felt like a drugstore cowboy on a bucking bronco shifting gears.

The next door neighbors bought a new British Racing Green '71.  I remember the price was $5,500 including dealer add-ons and mark-up.  Yikes!

I have the white version, but like the orange better.

I bought a yellow 1972 Datsun 240Z in late 1972, which was the first new car I owned (see picture).  I paid about $4,600 including taxes.  By that time local dealers were no longer marking up the price above list.  I kept the car for almost ten years.

@ed-davis  I loved those cars when they first came out and I still do.......especially in dark green or red.  The 71/72/73s were the best looking IMO

@ed-davis

That is a nice car Ed. I was always intrigued by them but I don't have any experience with one.
