I have that Green Seville.  Wonderful model.  I never got why Chevrolet put the big gold anodized V under the emblem.  To me it never looked right and looks added on as if someone went to a wrecking yard and robbed it from a 1950s Cadillac and added it to their Chevy!  I assume it was to add to the Belairs appeal and make it appear more “up scale”

The "V" stood for "V-8."  Lesser 1957 Chevrolets (six cylinder models) did not have "Vs."  By the early '70's, even Cadillac had abandoned the "V" ...  Why state the obvious?
