Randy, there was a gasket between the nose piece and the body of the car.
No my dad didn't buy it for her...
...as he had a Convertible W-30 442 to drive
Is it for sale?
I thought it looked like that from 1:1 pics thanks
Kev, Must be worth 60k or more depending on options, and miles. got a good lock on the door?
they are almost too valuable to drive anymore, but that is what is
most fun about them, I used to have a yellow '70 Hemi cuda-
fourspeed, black interior, black shaker. bought it in 1975 for
$3,100.00!!!! I'm so stupid though, I sold it in 1979 for $6,500.00
thinking I made a killing????? I'd say if in same mint condition, it
would be selling for over $100,000.00 at an auction today.
Every morning in the mirror, I start with-"Stupid Chris, stupid Chris".
Tough way to live.
I like your dad. sounds like a cool guy.
He was until I turned 16...
...and he would only let me buy a 1972 VW Beetle. Friggin' 1980's. 🙁
I've made up for that slightly since with a 305HP Mustang Cobra. It's not like the way they used to make them but I'll take it.
Like the "5" you mean?
I assume that means cylinder #5?
Na, it's not for sale...
I bought it in '76 for $1,960.00 from the original owner.
Couldn't even tell ya how much I've got into it either,
I think part of me doesn't wanna know.
It's a hardtop, B-5 blue, blue interior, number matching
Hemi automatic. Restored to original factory condition
with the exception of the rear end. Back in the 70's I blew the ring & pinion outta it drag racing out on Woodward Ave.
The original car came with a 8 3/4 rear end, mine now still has the Dana I bought from the junkyard for $50.00 in it.
Aside from that, bone stock, but it has been "tweaked".
Roger Lindamood was a neighbor back in the old neighborhood,
he rebuilt the tranmission, the engine was built at "Shadow Woods" garage, which built engines for Don Carlton & Ted Spheer.
When I get a minute I'll post a picture of it or maybe Tony Perrone and a few other guys might still have the picture or sound byte I sent them years ago.
Last I heard a D4C member has a '67 GTX convertible for sale...
It's in need of a complete restoration, but I've been told it's "all there"
Almost forgot, it's "only" a 440, no Hemi.
If you're serious I can put you in touch with him ??
The car is on the East Coast.
Any rust?
The usual, but considering the rarity of any "Big Block" convertibles....
I believe he's also got a "parts" car to go with it,
it isn't a GTX, just the standard Belvedere.
Chris, yes, I did note the 'build marks' on the engine...
...and YES, DM put the shift pattern on the center console. B-)
Chris, they seem pretty close to me. Ride height....
...from front to rear is level and judging from the space between tires and wheel well, they seem compatible.
Randy, it isn't a gap. It is a replicated spacer. Photo...
...flash allows bleed-through but in person the space is about scale.
