Did anyone read Motor Trend Classic?

I have 7 issues of this magazine.

Is the magazine still published? I can't find it anywhere. I don't have number 1, or if I do I can't find it along with all the other magazines I've saved! Any help here?

Publication has stopped. I have all issues and I miss it a lot. It was a good magazine.

The competion from Hemmings group must have done the mag in!

I have every issue of Hemming Classic Car and also the very fine Collectible Automobile, but not all of them. I guess the two magazines just was too much for the Motor Trend Classic to suceed.

I seriously dislike Hemmings Classic Car...

...the relentless drumbeat of "cars that you should own" is too much for me to take. Not everyone has the time, space, money or inclination to own an old car. I'd much rather read about the history of a particular car or marque. This is why (in my opinion) that Collectable Automobile (plus the late Special Interest Autos) is such a "keeper" of a magazine.

It was the lack of advertising dollars that killed off Motor Trend Classic. It was a labor of love by too few people.

S.I.A. was a great mag. I always thought they did themselves little good...

with the title - just SIA. Didn't jump out at you on the newsstand.

I like Hemmings Classic Car, though, too. Most of us are dreamers if not owners of the real deal, and they nurture the dream.

John...if you want a car mag with NO advertising, subscribe to "Collectible Automobile". From issue one 25 years ago, they've only covered all the great classics that we all love. For my money it is the best magazine to ever be publishied.

I tried the first issue or two, found rather dull compared to Collectible Automobile (I have every issue) and Hemming's Collectible Car. The MT mag had too many exotics, which I'm not interested in.Another decent mag is Cars & Parts, although they have a lot of mistakes, especially in describing the year or model of a car pictured.

John, John, John, they aren't really saying you should own these cars, it's just meant to be a catchy title for an interesting series.
