If it's about cars I'm for it. Without the 1/1 cars there wouldn't be any 1/24 models of them. To my knowledge, I can't recall a new model being introduced that wasn't covered on the BB.
Diecasts anyone? My answer to John Baynes question...
Why do I come to the Bulletin Board, and why did I come here in the first place?
Because the discussion is about OLD cars, and our likes and dislikes of them. I enjoy the passions felt and shared by everyone for a time when cars were all different. Some were riddled with chrome, some had fins, some horse power...all were awesome!
I love hearing the stories of the cars, and sharing of our diecast collections. And I also enjoy hearing about others wish lists. It is fun to dream about the cars we'd like to see from the mints. Sure I know the mints are going to produce only the cars they feel will make a buck for them, but that doesn't mean that all of us can't wish for some of the cars that may never make production.
As for the posting of pictures from our respective collections, I thought that is what the "Picture This" section under "Features" was for. For those of you that haven't visited that section, give it a look. There are some fabulous diecast collections and displays to enjoy.
And finally, here is something that all of us need to always be mindful of. Any opinion expressed should be accepted as that of the poster offering it, and doesn't need to be agreed with. If someone disagrees with an opinion, they should respectively (if they need to) share their opinion, but don't criticize an opinion.
So why do I come to the Bulletin Board? Well, now you know.

I frankly like the Car show Pix as a member posts we all can't go to every show & It gives us Food
For Thought. Read that as what we might want one of the Mints to Produce. After all it is cars. But if that's what you want then just read the posts that deal with only diecast. I like it all, sure some of the questions are a bit of a reach but mostly they do have something to do with cars both Big & Small & whats happening to our hobby of cars as the government drives forward. Kind of like reading only the Good Parts of a book each person has a different set of Good Parts.
Where's the Car Theme to this post? Some won't understand it?
I have only one more thing to say. Bring back the benchseats and bigblocks.
John, wishing for a car isn't bad. And, for the most part, most posters don't go overboard about it.
Wishing is good. I think not wishing is passive.
Big blocks - yes. Bench seats - no.
Hmm, i wonder who you're talking about?
Dallas, I have the Hot Wheels purple Merc also ( and the Hirohito), and i've always wished Hot
Wheels would do more 1:24s, but they haven't. The flamed Merc is one of my favorites.
I just Love those, Dallas. Thank you so much....
....I have a soft spot for those Mercury rods and customs. The colors on the Danbury Mint one has always been one of my faves. The Mattel Mercs are two that are on my "lovingly adore but can never afford" list. LOL. I like the Purple one with the flames.
Your pics are super. More, please. Thanks so much for sharing.
I would like to see pictures of modified diecast and a description of what it took to make the mods
I have some modified Hot Rods and stock cars that I have modified into hot rods that I will post pictures of once I get my cars out of storage. That said I have no problem with pcitures of 1:1 cars being posted or discussions about them. I think it keeps the board active which is a very good thing.
I was going to segue into ZZTop album covers. LOL
Steve, I agree. Hey Mattel.... give us some more precision 1/24 cars!!!!
Nothing like a sharp dressed man. Yah baby!!!!
