DM 32 Ford Lil Deuce Coupe

I noticed the review for this model under new releases/reviews and when I go to the link it says to click here for a printer-friendly format. I click but I get the same thing. Just a photo of the model, limited edition. No detail pics or review. What to do?

Alex as of yet I don't believeTony has gotten the car to photograph and do a review on. As soon as it's available I'm sure T will post it.

Alex, I can highly recommend the Little Deuce Coupe.

I got mine about 2 weeks ago and it is absolutely one of the finest models I have ever seen. Detail after detail. DM outdid themselves on this one. It will certainly be worth your wait to get one.

Little Duece Coupe

I too received mine about two weeks ago and that time I mentioned the superb detail in this model. The really outstanding detail of the interior is incredible but the main prize is the Oldsmobile engine. This has to be the most detailed motor ever put in a model car. If you are a fan of historic hotrods, then this car is for you.

A question for those who have received the 32 Deuce Coupe, if you don't mind. When did you order the car? And, do you buy very many cars from Danbury Mint? I am just trying to figure out DM's policy on who they ship to first. I know I sent the card back when I got the Custom Nomad Corvette to be part of this series and called and ordered the Deuce Coupe as soon as word was mentioned on the forum when people started getting the California Kid car. Heck, the DM Customer Service person did not even know anything about the Deuce. Late last year they said I would receive it in March, then April and now it is May. If any one understands DM's policy on how they ship new cars, please share. Thank you

Sean, I signed up for the series when I received the California Kid.

As for how much DM stuff I buy, probably not more than 3/4 cars per year. And I've read on this forum about guys getting calls from DM; never happened here. Maybe you have to be a big spender to get those calls. I'd just as soon not go that route. I have been more than satisfied with their product but don't have a clue about their marketing strategy. I get brochures weekly and sometimes more often than that but only order what I really want. I will say that their brochures are very tempting. Hope that helps you in some way.

Thanks Willie for your reply. I asked this question last year when the California Kid started shipping to people on the Forum. The people who replied that got their cars early said they buy 2 to 5 cars a year at most. It appears that those who buy a few cars a year are actually getting better service on new releases that those who buy many. It sounds like a very nice car. I guess DM knows I will just wait how ever long it takes to get mine.

Sean, maybe you have hit on one of their marketing strategies.

Keep the small buyers on the hook by giving great service and let the "frequent fliers" wait since they are already hooked?? Then the small guys turn into larger buyers and the cycle goes on. I'm sure there are a lot of opinions on how DM does business. I just hope the product stays at the current level or higher.

It is starting to look like that maybe DM's game plan. Nothing else I have seen makes and since. Well, I am glad you got yours and very happy with it.

Sean and Willie

I can't believe that your theory of the small buyer getting preferenced by DM is true. I buy every car they issue and sometimes they deliver my car when they are first released and sometimes I wait quite a while to receive mine after they have been released. I always order my cars just as soon as I learn about them. In the case of the Little Duece coupe, I ordered it when I received the California Kid. Last year I bought 17 cars from DM and I haven't a clue as to how they pick who receives what and when. I have learned that calling CS will sometime put you in touch with someone who is knowledgeable about shipping and other times you'll get someone who doesn't know anything and was lucky to find their way to work that day. Your best bet when inquiring as to the status of an order is to send them an email. It usually takes them a day to get back to you but you will always get an answer with detailed information.

Bob, it was only a theory. I don't know anyone who really understands their priorities. I have called a few times and you're 100% correct in that you never know what type of service you will get over the phone. I'll try your suggestion of e-mailing next time I need something. Maybe DM is doing so well that they no longer care for their customers as they used to. I hope this is not the case but I can't come up with any reasonable explanation for some of their responses, can you??

Willie

Try the email and I think you will be pleased. I agree, I don't think they have any rhyme or reason as to why they do things. Overall I still think their CS is okay as long as you do it by computer. Let me know what you think.
