I was surprised to receive a package yesterday. I had ordered some models from Legacy, but they're in California and this had a Connecticut return address. Imagine my surprise when it was a completely new model from Danbury Mint (the first I'd received in over a year, as a member of their Classic Car Preview Society), a 1948 Chevrolet Fleetline Aerosedan. I took a cursory look at it and it is really nice. The metalflake paint is very fine. They even included plastic-tipped tweezers to access its features. Maybe this is a glimmer of hope for us 1:24 modelers. I sure hope so!

Gary, I like your impression of the Chevy. It has been the hot topic here on the 1.24 forum for the last couple of weeks. Everyone that has received one has had nothiing but positive things to say about it.

Good news indeed and a ray of hope that Danbury Mint is slowly getting the issues fixed that have prevented them from providing us with the greatest diecasts in the world.

I'm still waiting for my '48 Chevy to arrive, but it should be here this week. I can't wait!

George, you are so right! A box is delivered to a doorstep and it has spawned so much...

... diecast conversation! I think it's just terrific!
