When I first got this !940 Ford Deluxe Coupe, I first thought the DM got a new vendor. Granted this is old tech with a low parts count, but the quality and attention to detail showed such an improvement over their very early stuff. Even today, it's still worth displaying.

It does look well constructed. Nice presentation and model.

One of my first diecast. Was it really nearly 30 years ago? Mine’s still proudly displayed with the Tudor, woodie and pickup.

Love my 1940 Fords. Nice photos Rich.

@david-vandermeer Yup. 29 years ago. Doing the math is starting to get scary. LOL

One of the first, maybe the first, DM I bought when I discovered ebay about 20 years ago. I'd bought a few DMs off Roy Rauch before this. Love it, added the Tudor a few months back so now have the set as you do David. Thanks Rich.

Have this and the green one. The green one is my favorite of the two as I  think the color is more period correct.

@bob-jackman You're absolutely right, Bob. In these early days, the choice of colors were picked by what has the most "pop" in the advertisement in the Sunday Parade section of your local newspaper. That was to attract impulse buyers, rather than serious collectors. Both Mints were guilty of that in those early days.
