Franklin Mint's 1962 Volkswagen Type 2, 23 Window Deluxe Microbus, AKA: the "Samba" and known in the States as the "Sunroof Deluxe". The Type 2, built from 1950 to 1967 was the ultimate passenger/utility vehicle built in a large variety of variants, from Fire Brigade pickup truck to this top of the line Samba. It became the de rigueur transport vehicle for Hippies making the trek from Haight-Ashbury to Woodstock in '69, although I can't figure out how it made it over the Rockies with its 32 HP 1600cc flat 4 engine. I remember when going up hills being tempted to augment the engine by getting out and pushing. Now, this Samba, perfectly restored, commands insane money from aging Hippies who left the commune and became investment bankers. I love the tutone colors on this reissue LE.

@geno The coolest Microbus I have is a replica of the '63 van, "Light", that transported a band to Woodstock. It was hand painted by the legendary Dr Bob Hieronimus.

Rich:  I had the blue one, but sold it, don't ask why.  I still have the red and white original though.  Love the hippie bus, that is really unique.
