Gene, Where is that in relation to Springfield? I used to spend a couple of weeks there a yr worked for Milton Bradley Co for 30 years. Happy to hear you are OK and No Damage!

Like someone else already said on this thread, "Goodnight, Irene" to which I'll add, good riddance!
HA!
The 1st picture, above post, was that the Conn. River? Seem largest along Hwy 91?
Is that Greenfield and or Turners Falls? I don't know where you live?
It's the Deerfield River in Shelburne Falls, David.
Do you know a Fred Gray Senior? He & his wife live there
Is that the bridge of flowers?
My son took his new wife to see it when they were visiting from Montana this summer. Hope the bridge survived Irene.
No I don't, David.
Sure is, Jim. I hope so, too, but haven't heard yet.
Never rains on my parade!
Well I packed up, boarded up and left my house around noon on Saturday. ALL my diecast models were moved to the second floor (250++), a grandfather clock, all my living room furtiture, counter stools, paintings, draperies etc. Anything valuable was on the second floor aside from the couch and even that I proped up on two old chairs "IN CASE" the water ONLY got in the first floor under ONLY 15 " . My street is about 8-9' above sea level, and the house is about another 2-3 feet higher. and I am located only 400-500 feet from the Bay. THAT said it would take a rise of the bay of about 10 feet for the water to start entering my basement and an additional rise of 2-3 feel to reach the first floor. When I hear 4-8+ feet of surge I was saying "OK the basement is DEFINITELY going to be under water! On Sunday @ 3PM when the evacuation notice was lifted I was eager to go home and servey the damage. Here's the result NONE!
Not a drop of water even in my basement, aside from sweeping the sidewalk, and front paver area and rear patio all is well! I was worried my Toronado and Mark III would be under 3-4 feet of water!P 🙁 thank GOD we all made it ok. Mom is in FLushing way higher elevation and she got water in her basement. We had to turn on the pumps. Thanks for all your concern guys, nice to know im thought about. As a side note I was on vacation the past 9 days. SOme vacation an earthquake then a Hurricane! 🙁 I think I'd rather work!!!!!!!!!! LOL
After your description I'd choose work too! Glad everything is Ok as well as you, worse for wear!
Phil, good to hear everything is okay.
Great to hear, Phil!!
