DRIVERS TEST??????What did you take your drivers test in???? I drove a 1938 Buick.4 door sedan.Big black one and then got a ticket the next day for speeding.Boy was my Dad mad as hell and he lifted my licence for a few days that seemed like a life time. He was a Greyhound driver and preached nothing but safety. He was right at the time although I did not think so.But I found out FATHER KNOWS BEST. God bless America

Let's see....my 1953 Chevy 210 two door sedan with three on the tree.

The color was copper with a white top...Mickey Mouse whitewalls, '55 Olds Spinners, split manifold to allow for duals with Hollywood Mufflers, with dual scavenger pipes right in front of the rear axle; lowered in front (heated two coils on either side, which made for an interesting ride). For those who are from the LA, I would hang around Barrs Muffler on Ventura in Studio City...he did all the lowering for a buck. This was 1959.

I had my parents 1960 Buick Le Sabre. My stepdad would park his two work trucks in front of the house (North Highlands , Cal) and sit in the house and drink beer and I would practice my parallel parking . I was so nervous about my driving test that I slept on the front seat of the Buick the night before.... DudeB-)

Driver's test...

I took my driver's test in a little newer car. A 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado! I felt like I was "King of the Road!"

A 1955 Chevy Bel Air 4 door sedan (coral and grey). It was an automatic 6 cylinder, the family car.

My mom was upset that I had actually passed. I think she was afraid. This was in October 1960. The driving age in NJ was 17, and I had waited breathlessly since that July.:)
